League of Legends: New Champion Alphonse the Geyser Dweller

Problem I am trying to solve:

-League of Legends lacks a scaredy cat character, which is likely due to players not wanting to take part in the scaredy cat fantasy. So the problem is how can we add this type of character in a way that would make players want to take part in the fantasy.

Solution:

-Make the character's personality similar to Deku (Izuku Midoriya) from My Hero Academia; a character that overcomes his fears to try and save/support his friends (teammates).

-This naturally leads us into a supportive type of character, which then leads to the question, how can we incorporate this personality into his kit in a unique way with a unique theme.

Theme:

-Geysers and just steam based combat is a fantasy that isn't explored a lot across IP's, so I thought it would be a great place to start. After settling on geysers/steam, I figured a trickery tank that uses the steam and hide in geysers to protect his team was an interesting playstyle that hasn't been done yet.

Current version of Alphonse's kit (v 1.3):

Passive: Allies that get hit with Alphonse's water get a small water shield.

Q: Alphonse summons a geyser (small circle) at a target location as well as at his current location which both erupt dealing damage and summoning a water clone of Alphonse at the other geyser. As the geyser erupts, both Alphonse and the clone turn invisible. Alphonse can recast Q while the geyser is erupting to blink to the other geyser.

W: Alphonse fires off a water stream that does minimal damage and creates a pool of water and after a brief delay, Alphonse can cast W again to appear at the pool. An ally can click on the pool to jump in and swap places with Alphonse.

E: Alphonse summons a steam vent beneath him which after a delay erupts and knocks up enemies as well as turning Alphonse untargetable while he's in the steam cloud.

R: Alphonse goes berserk and for the next 4 seconds, his Q and E have 1 second cooldown and the Q and E animations go 50% faster. Knockups are heavily reduced.

Kit Analysis:

-Alphonse is a melee support who's defensive steroid is his "trickery". This forces players to be more cognizant when going in. Al needs to go in to be useful. He is intended to be relatively squishy for a melee champ.

-Alphonse's passive allows Alphonse to use items such as Ardent Censer as well as gives him more supportive capabilities. I'm worried that the shield it out of place for an engaging/trickery tank, but wanted him to still be able to proc ardent; my inspiration for this was Rakan has a weak heal that allows him to still buy ardent.

-Q is Alphonse's bread and butter skill which you max first, gives him some poke in lane while comboing with both his W and E. His Q-E-W sets up ganks incredibly well, he goes in, knocks up an enemy, and then throws his w behind him and swaps positions with his jungler as he gets low.

-W is similar to Thresh's lantern, but is used more offensively, it requires Alphonse to swap positions with his teammate which can either get Alphonse out of a tricky situation and replace him with a frontliner or swap one of Alphonse's squishier teammates with Alphonse as Alphonse tries to use the trickery in his kit to get him out of the situation. -E: is a pretty basic ability with some melee range cc to reward Alphonse for going in. the untargetable aspect might need to be removed, but I'm worried that without some form of untargetable in his kit, Alphonse is going to blow up when he goes in. -R is the ability that I am the least satisfied with. On one hand, Alphonse going super saiyan and teleporting around sounds super satisfying and is a game play fantasy that hasn't really been explored yet, but it's easy to see how his R could be incredibly frustrating to play against. His R also represents, Alphonse getting over his scaredycatness and stepping up to the plate when it matters, so it makes sense from a thematic aspect, but I am still exploring to see if there is a better option that would be less frustrating to play against.
